Despite the common name, not and Orchid, but a tall, elegant bulbous perennial which will grace any garden. Funnel-shaped white flowers to 5 cm in width with a purple throat appear above sword-shaped leaves in late summer August to October These bulbs need well drained soil and a very sheltered aspect to survive the winter. It is generally recommended to grow them in pots and lift the bulbs after flowering, store them frost free over winter and re-plant in the spring. Flowering height 1m Minimum temp. -5C
