An evergreen shrub with grey-green leaves and waxy pink flowers with long red stamens in summer which attract bees and butterflies. The flowers are edible and are pineapple flavoured. Fruit may appear later but two plants are needed for cross polination. For well drained, neutral to alkaline soil in full sun in a sheltered position. May need protection from frost in cold areas.
