Useful plant for softening the edges of a border with its soft leaves and sprays of small acid yellow flowers from June-September. Self seeds freely. Drought tolerant. Good ground cover.
(Allium 'Summer Beauty', Allium senescens subsp. montanum.) Like a larger version of chives, this makes clumps of edible leaves, topped in mid-summer with round heads of pink flowers.
A tall perennial with branching stems of the most striking, deep blue flowers in summer. Truly blue flowers are uncommon in the plant world.
A sport of Anemone hupehensis 'Praecox', this make compact suckering mounds growing to around 12 - 15" covered in pink flowers in late summer. Will tolerate dryish soils once established. Its compact habit makes it suitable for growing on cont£7.50more info....
('Little Red Riding Hood'). A lovely cultivar with very deep pink semi-double flowers in summer and autumn.
Excellent plant for attracting butterflies with clusters of bright orange flowers from July to September.
A tall perennial with soft lilac-pink, upward facing star-shaped flowers from June to September. Good cut flower. Attracts bees.
A cultivar with shaggy deep purple to almost black flowers, emerging from attractive buds. A lovely plant for growing towards the front of a sunny border, with Geraniums, Astrantias, Diascias etc.
Purple thistle-like flowers are produced on sturdy stems from June to Aug. Very good for a wildlife garden.
