A cultivar producing very dark, almost black stems. Contrasts well with C. 'Flaviramea' and other Dogwoods. As with other Cornus alba cultivars, cut back hard in March for the best stem colour. If preferred, leave about two thirds of the stems uncut - these will flower and produce clusters of attractive white to blue berries.
