Striking purple leaved form of our native Beech. Makes a superb hedge. The leaves turn brown in autumn, but stay on the plant until new growth in spring pushes them off. Trim lightly to shape in summer, or more heavily if required in spring. A thick hedge will provide shelter for birds and insects.
