A stunning tall bearded Iris with deep purple standards and almost black falls from May to June. Slightly scented. To get bearded irises to flower well it is essential to plant them with the rhizomes slightly exposed and make sure they do not become swamped by other plants. Irises need plenty of sun and a free draining soil. In spring when the leaves are about 6 inches high scatter some Bonemeal around the plants taking care not to leave any sitting on top of rhizomes. When clumps become congested lift and divide them after flowering or in the autumn.
