A bold evergreen grass with broad leaves to 1 inch wide. They are light green with darker ribs giving it a pleated look. The leaves get to about a foot but the flower spikes reach 4-5ft. The flowers are held in loose panicles and are followed by small round green seeds. Makes a bold statement in a mixed border.
