BOMAREA HIRTELLA

Bomareas come from South America, and are herbaceous climbing relatives of the more familiar Alstroemeria (they are sometimes called `climbing alstroemerias`) - the resemblance is obvious in this picture. They like humus-rich soil in part shade. This species is worth trying outdoors, with a winter mulch, when it should survive minus 10 degrees C.
