BOUGAINVILLEA `RASPBERRY ICE`(PAPER FLOWER
The `Paper Flower` is a popular climber for a warm
well-lit conservatory. Rather than twining around it's support, it hangs on by means
of sharp thorns. The long-lasting papery bracts supply the colour, which may
be pink, mauve, orange or white - there are some double flowered forms too.
The true flowers are small and white, as can be seen in the variegated
variety pictured here.
These plants dislike temperatures below 7 - 10 degrees C.
in winter. becoming leafless and slow to break into growth in the spring. |
