Coming from dry rocky places in the Karoo (South Africa), this plant is grown more for it's foliage than it's flowers. If, like other Buddlejas, it is cut hard back in spring, it will produce masses of attractively crimped white to grey leaves. The flowers and leaves can cause some people to sneeze, hence it's other common name of 'sneezebush'.
