Weigelas are among the most floriferous shrubs and this one had variegated leaves to further extend the season of interest. The green, white and pink leaves set off the trumpet-shaped pink flowers in late spring. Immediately after flowering trim flowering shoots by a third, and cut up to a third of the oldest stems to ground level. Well-drained soil in part-shade.

The exact size of plants will vary with the growing season and may be cut back in accordance with normal pruning regimes or to fit in the box if they are excessively tall
