A narrow-leaved form of this easy to grow bromeliad with funnel-shaped leaves which hold water and exotic, red and blue pendant flowers on long stems in mid-summer. Prefers a position away from direct sun. Keep the tubes filled with water and take care not to over water the roots. When potting on mix in lots of grit into the compost.

Semi-evergreen shrub with large hairy leaves, for a sunny sheltered spot. Has the largest flowers in the genus, in hanging panicles in early summer.
A lovely cultivar with masses of pale yellow flowers in summer. Needs well-drained soil in sun. Makes a superb long-lasting cut flower and is loved by bees and butterflies.
