Availability:

Please enquire for approximate date of availability (We will start shipping of our tender plants as they become available, and when the weather warms in spring 2019)

Common Name: Giant Furcraea

Plant Family: Agavaceae

Planting Style:  architectural
Flower Colour:  White
Height:  large (up to 12 feet)
Habit/Shape:  Spiky
Evergreen:  Yes
Soil Type:  Normal, well-drained but moisture retentive
Hardiness/minimum temperature:  Hardy to minus 5 deg. C

Related to the Agave, and with a similar habit (though less spiny!), the rosette grows for several (many) years, forming a trunk, then, when it's in the mood, it produces a giant flower spike up to 40 foot tall. While you wait, this makes an excellent plant for a large pot or planted in well-drained soil in a sunny border.
