A beautiful and ancient tree from China with fan shaped apple-green leaves which turn a brilliant yellow in autumn. Eventually makes a very large tree but can be grown as a multi-stemmed shrub if space is limited.

Relatives of this species of deciduous tree appear in fossil records 260 million years old! For any well drained soil in full sun. Hardy and tough, tolerating heavy pollution and exposed positions. Can reach 35m. To restrict size, prune back as a shrub or grow in a container.
