Hardy perennials are the mainstay of the herbaceous border, giving colour through the year for very litte effort and attracting bees and butterflies into the garden.
Achillea 'Apple Blossom'
Flat heads of flowers which open deep pink and fade to a paler pink with age. Achilleas are always a great favorite for Butterflies
A good variety, producing wide heads of vibrant deep red flowers, which maintain their colour as they age.
Achillea 'Inca Gold'
Large flat heads of terracotta flowers fading to yellow with age from June to August. An excellent cut flower and attracts bees and butterflies.
Moisture loving grass-like perennial suitable for growing in pond margins.
A fantastic variety, very floriferous and of medium height (60cm). Loose heads of mid to dark blue flowers from July August. Deciduous and Hardy
A compact semi-evergreen cultivar with pale lilac-blue flowers in summer.
Agapanthus 'Purple Cloud'
A semi-evergreen cultivar with tall stems carrying large umbels of nodding, deep violet-blue flowers in mid and late summer.
Lovely perennial for attracting Bees and Butterflies with spikes of small lilac-blue flowers from July-Oct. Needs good drainage and full sun.
A statuesque Allium with large spherical heads of purple flowers on strong stems from May-June. A great focal point for a border and Attracts bees and butterflies. 1.2 metres (4 feet).
A spectacular bulb with huge spherical, silvery-mauve flower heads to 40cm (16in) across from May - July. Attracts bees & butterflies.
