Schizostylis. Large scarlet-red, star shaped flowers from autumn to winter. For moist soil in full sun, resents waterlogging in the winter though. Plants will appreciate a mulch in winter. Divide in spring when clumps become congested. Makers a good cut flower too.

A statuesque Allium with large spherical heads of purple flowers on strong stems from May-June. A great focal point for a border and Attracts bees and butterflies. 1.2 metres (4 feet).
Calamagrostis acutiflora 'Overdam'£6.50
A tall variegated grass with green leaves each with a creamy-white edge. Showy plumes of pinkish flowers are produced on vertical stems in late summer and persist into winter.
