A vigourous cultivar grown for its early flowering, and long season of interest.The feathery plumes of flowers emerge deep reddish-purple, on stems to 2 metres high, before fading to buff in the autumn and remaining attractive through the winter. The arching fountain of foliage starts green, then goes through gold in the autumn before its winter rest as a mound of light brown to add interest to the winter garden. Cut back in spring before new leaves appear.

Unless otherwise indicated our plants are supplied in the following pot sizes according to category (Dimensions refer to either the pot diameter (cm) or volume (litre);

  • Exotics/Conservatory & House Plants, Succulents: 9cm or 1 litre
  • Hardy Perennials, Ferns and Grasses: 1 litre (approx 12cm diameter)
  • Herbs: 9cm
  • Hardy Shrubs and Climbers: 2 or 3 litre (occasionally 1.5 litre)
  • Potted Bulbs: variable- please see "Size/Qty" on product information page 
  • Dormant Bulbs, Tubers and Bare-root perennials come either bagged or wrapped without a pot

The exact size of plants will vary with the growing season and may be cut back in accordance with normal pruning regimes or to fit in the box if they are excessively tall
