Position/ Situation:  Sheltered, frost-free gardens
Height:  low (up to 3 feet)
Hardiness/minimum temperature:  Frost tender (plus 1 to 5 deg. C.)


Possibly the variety 'Monica'. An attractive grass forming neat mops of evergreen bamboo-like leaves which will arch gently over the side of a pot. Best kept frost free (it makes a nice house plant for a cool shady spot), though it may take a light frost. Likes moisture in summer, less in winter - but avoid letting it dry out completely.

Unless otherwise indicated our plants are supplied in the following pot sizes according to category. Dimensions refer to either the pot diameter (cm) or volume (litre);

  • Exotics/Conservatory & House Plants, Succulents: mostly as young plants in 9cm or 1 litre pots
  • Hardy Perennials, Ferns and Grasses: 1 litre (approx 12cm diameter)
  • Herbs: 9cm
  • Hardy Shrubs and Climbers: 1.5 or 2 litre 
  • Potted Bulbs: variable- please see "Size/Qty" on product information page 
  • Dormant Bulbs, Tubers and Bare-root perennials come either bagged or wrapped without a pot

The exact size of plants will vary with the growing season and may be cut back in accordance with normal pruning regimes or to fit in the box if they are excessively tall
