Taller than most polypody this evergreen fern will tolerate dryish shade once established and is also good for chalky or alkaline soils. Slowly spreads by a creeping rootstock, eventually providing good ground cover for a shady spot. This cultivar comes from the Welsh polypody (P. cambricum) so is hardy and resilient
