Rarely offered in the UK, this frost-tender vigourous South African climber needs space to reach its potential 15 metres. The leaves are shiny and leathery and arranged in 3 - 5 leaflets. Climbing by tendrils, it is ideal for covering something unsightly indoors or in interior displays. It can be placed outdoors in the summer, but will need to be cut back and brought indoors for the winter. Inconspicuous flowers attractive to bees may appear followed by brown-purple fruit. These are rather tart but supposedly make a nice jam.
