A stunning cultivar with purple stems and purple-grey leaves. In late summer dense heads of intense red flowers open from deep pink buds. For well drained soil in full sun. Drought tolerant. Loved by bees and butterflies. A good candidate for the 'Chelsea Chop' - cut back some or all plants around Chelsea time, for lower, sturdier and later flowering plants.
