Getting tender plants through the winter

Succulents

We have an expanding range of these interesting and varied plants – mostly succulents, but also some epiphytic cacti (i.e. those which live in trees), like the wonderfully scented Epiphyllums and Selenicereus, have worked their way into the catalogue. Most plants in this section are undemanding, and are ideal for a hot sunny conservatory or windowsill, generally needing less watering and attention than other plants. (Succulents provide an ideal way to get children interested in plants.) We have selected those with interesting foliage shapes and textures, some verging on the bizarre...

An increasing number of our tender plants are grown by us on our nursery, and will mostly be supplied in 9 cm pots. Occasionally we supply larger bought in plants, these have generally been grown in Holland or Denmark and will be more expensive. We believe our own 'home grown' plants offer much better value, and when potted on and grown in your particular conditions will make more well-adjusted plants.

Winter Mail Order

During the winter we stop sending out our tender plants, but leave a selection of them visible on our web site so you can see what we will have next year. If there are any plants you are interested in please let us know, so we can reserve them for you.
