A variety of the common grape vine. This has handsome leaves which are deeply incised and lobed, giving a heavy feathered appearance. The leaves are held out rather proudly like extended hands, always an attractive feature in a climber as it gives a light and friendly touch. This is a pretty vine with the benefit of grapes theoretically, anyway. This is one of the earlier ripening forms which has been around at least since the 17th century.
