A shrubby succulent with branching stems and rosettes very dark purple, almost black leaves. An excellent plant for a sunny conservatory by patio doors or as a specimen for the summer patio. This plant can get top heavy so grow it in a heavy terracotta pot in a loam based compost with lots of grit mixed in for drainage. Colouration is best in full sun. Water very sparingly especially in winter

Unless otherwise indicated our plants are supplied in the following pot sizes according to category. Dimensions refer to either the pot diameter (cm) or volume (litre);

  • Exotics/Conservatory & House Plants, Succulents: mostly as young plants in 9cm or 1 litre pots
  • Hardy Perennials, Ferns and Grasses: 1 litre (approx 12cm diameter)
  • Herbs: 9cm
  • Hardy Shrubs and Climbers: 1.5 or 2 litre 
  • Potted Bulbs: variable- please see "Size/Qty" on product information page 
  • Dormant Bulbs, Tubers and Bare-root perennials come either bagged or wrapped without a pot

The exact size of plants will vary with the growing season and may be cut back in accordance with normal pruning regimes or to fit in the box if they are excessively tall
