Common Name: Tapeworm Plant

Plant Family: Polygonaceae

Season of Interest:  All year round
Sun or Shade:  Sun to Part Shade
Scented flowers or leaves:  No Scent
Height:  medium (up to 6 feet)
Hardiness/minimum temperature:  Tender (plus 5 to 10 deg. C.)

A strange, gangly, plant with distinctly flattened jointed stems, giving rise to its rather unappealing common name of ‘Tapeworm Plant’. The leaves and flowers are small and undistinguished, though small red fruit may be produced. Definitely a plant for the conoisseur.
