How to Order

Please read our terms and conditions before ordering.

Availability

The appearance of a product on our website is not a guarantee that it is in stock. Plants are 'living stock', most of which we propagate ourselves and are affected by seasons and environmental conditions. As a result, stock levels are ever changing throughout the year as the growing process follows the seasons and therefore it is not possible to keep an absolutely accurate stock control at all times. If for any reason we cannot meet your order either partially or entirely we will let you know.

Complete your order as normal - you will receive an email acknowledgement automatically. We will follow this up with an email giving you the availability and total cost of your order. Only then will we debit your card and arrange delivery.

USING OUR WEBSITE TO ORDER

Searching for plants

You can find plants by browsing the categories on the left hand side such as conservatory plants or hardy perennials. Alternatively if you already know the specific name of a plant you are looking for then enter this in the search function towards the upper right of the screen. Please note that you may achieve better search results by entering the botanical (Latin) name rather than common name. If you cannot find a plant on our website under its common name and are unsure of the correct Latin name, try entering the common name into a search engine or looking it up in a good plant encyclopaedia. If you are still having problems then please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help.

How to order

Ordering on our website is done using a 'Shopping Cart' system, commonly used in online shopping these days. Think of it as a virtual shopping basket where you 'place' the items you wish to purchase before proceeding to the 'checkout.'

Shopping basket

To place items in your shopping basket simply add the number of plants you require in the box to the right of the description of the plant in question. Once you are happy with your selection click in the 'add selected items to basket' button at the top or bottom of the page. Please note that if you move onto another page before adding selected items to basket these will not automatically be added.

At this point, placing an item in your basket is not a commitment to buy, just like in a supermarket you can get as far as the checkout and change your mind about purchasing a particular item and simply remove it from your basket. To review/ edit the contents of your basket at any time click on the Shopping Basket link on the right hand side of the screen.

Visitor's Basket

You can browse our website and even add items to your shopping basket without needing an account. As a visitor (without an account) you will be given a 'Visitor's Basket'. This allows you to store your items in a temporary shopping basket. However, once you leave the online shop the contents of your shopping basket will be emptied. If you wish to purchase items on our website you will be required to create an account and you will be given a members basket (see below)

Creating an account

To create an account you can either click on the log in link underneath the main heading at the top of the page or simply proceed to the checkout stage from your shopping basket (if it contains any items) and you will automatically be asked to fill in the relevant details. We will need some details from you such as your name, address and contact details. You can be assured we will not share your details with any third party. Please see our Privacy Notice if you are concerned about disclosing personal information.

Member's Basket

As a member logged in to our online shop you will be given a 'Member's Basket'. This allows you to add plants to your shopping basket, and come back at a later date to finalize your checkout. All plants remain in your shopping basket even after you've logged out. They will remain in your basket until you have checked them out, or removed them. As a member if you add plants to your 'Visitor's Basket' and then decide to log in to the online shop to use your 'Member's Basket', the contents of your 'Visitor's Basket' will merge with your existing 'Member's Basket' contents automatically.

Checkout

When you are ready to place your order go to your 'Shopping Basket' (if you are not already there) and click on the 'Checkout' button. You will then be taken through several pages asking you to confirm delivery and payment details and options. Please read the details and instructions carefully and make sure the information is correct.

Estimated carriage

When you place your order you will initially see a 'Carriage Estimate' on the screen. We will confirm the exact amount when we confirm your order. The final delivery charge may vary from that shown. This is because plants change in form throughout the year the cost of sending even the same variety (based on weight and size of box required) can change from one month to another. If for any reason we need to adjust the delivery charge, we will let you know before we process payment. We always try to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

OTHER WAYS TO ORDER

By Email

You can e-mail us: gill@shrublandparknurseries.co.uk with a list of the plants you wish to order and we will confirm availability and cost. If you wish to proceed we will then make arrangements with you for payment and a suitable delivery date. We may ask you to pay via NOCHEX or PayPal (see below)

By Phone

Contact us (01473 833187/07890 527744) and leave your contact details and we'll get back to you. We may ask you to pay via NOCHEX or PayPal (see below)

By Post

If you prefer you can complete and post an order form to:

Please do not send any payment with your order form. We will send you an order confirmation, detailing the plants we can supply and the cost of delivery. If you wish to proceed we will then make arrangements with you for payment and a suitable delivery date. We may ask you to pay via NOCHEX or PayPal (see below)

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Credit/debit card

We accept payment by most major credit/debit cards except AMEX (American Express) or Diner's Club. Purchases with credit/debit card can be made through our website, by telephone or at our nursery.

Cheque

You may pay for plants with cheque if you have received an order conformation from us with the final total. Please make cheques out to SHRUBLAND PARK NURSERIES.

Nochex/ PayPal

For overseas customers or customers which we have made a separate arrangement for payment by phone, e-mail or post may use either of these payment methods. They are a secure way of paying us with a credit/debit card.

PAYPAL

If you have a PayPal account you may send us payment from your account. If we have agreed the total by phone, email or post and you wish to pay by Paypal, click the PayPal & NOCHEX payments link and click on the PayPal button.

NOCHEX

You do not need an account to use the NOCHEX service. This is an easy, safe and secure way of paying with a debit/credit card online. If we have agreed the total by phone, email or post and you wish to pay by NOCHEX, click the PayPal & NOCHEX payments link and click on the NOCHEX button.

We must receive payment in full before we can process your order.

RESERVING PLANTS

You can use our website to reserve plants by adding plants to your shopping basket in the usual way and, at the checkout stage, select 'Collect from Nursery' under the carriage methods. Alternatively you can contact us by e-mail or telephone to check for availability and arrange a suitable time to collect if you wish to visit outside of our official opening times - see visitor information.

Reservations will be held under your name for one calendar month from the date of reservation or until a specific date which has been agreed. If you have not collected your order within this time or contacted us to re-arrange a date for collection we reserve the right to make plants available for sale again as we cannot keep them reserved indefinitely.

TRADE DISCOUNT

We are willing to discuss trade or quantity discounts on orders of £200 or more (excluding VAT and delivery) for plants that are produced in our nursery – please contact us if you are interested. We are not able to give an across the board discount because of the wide range of plants we have and the varying cost/ease of propagation thereof.
